Gaming Briefs Wearing Boxers Feb 27, 2026                 Another week of “Dear lord can the news stop?”. Hell, there was even a couple of things from LAST Week I forgot to go over, just in the large mess of the gaming industry either announcing things or being on fire. This week seems to be mostly good news (Except for X-box). Pokémon had a presentation today showing off some new collectibles (Not even Kidding I want that Pokémon Game Music Collection thing that will SURELY be at a reasonable price that isn’t already sold out because of scalpers), the times and dates of Pokémon XP Fan Expo and   Pokémon World Championships 2026, featuring tournaments for The TCG,   Pokémon Go, and Pokémon Unite.                 I have no idea how the hell a Pokémon Go tournament will work        ...

Well it’s been a minute, or two, or a month. So many things happened. SO MANY GODDAMN THINGS. HOLY HELL, AND HOLY HELL EVEN DURING THE WRITING OF THIS, SO MANY THINGS KEPT HAPPENING. As more and more keeps coming out about Ubisoft's current state, it's pretty clear they're on the type of fire comparable to the mines of Centralia, Pennsylvania, Highguard came out, and then IMMEDIATELY died, then had this weird conversation surrounding it about it was everyone else’s fault the game died, as they fired most of the staff… two weeks after release. A BIG Shakeup at X-box, Nintendo does something No one can complain about but will. Meta does something EVERYONE will complain about. That said, let’s go into some stuff that caught my oh-so-limited attention. On January 21 st , 2026, Ubisoft did a lot. In a press release they announced they were delaying 7 upcoming games, shuttering two studios (The Division’s Massive Entertainment Stockholm and Halifax studios), and outright ...

Oh Holy Sh… night. I had to wait until after the new year to catch up on things, but DAMN did a lot happen.                        The biggest story is OF course the Ubisoft Breach, it’s still ongoing so I don’t know the entire scope of what happened, how much damage was done, but Jesus this was pretty damn big for them.                 Initial reports that allegedly, 4 separate groups attacked Ubisoft in tandem. On top of one group granted (as of reporting) $13 million (equivalent) in Rainbow Six currency, a second group accessed servers and banned as many players as possible, a third group claiming they had taken internal and client data, threatening to release it (Ubisoft seems to have confirmed this wasn’t customer ...

Another week, another attempt to keep up with all of it.  Steam Sale                 It’s that time again, the time of year where your wallet gets destroyed by the controlling force of the season: The Winter Steam Sale.                 Let us say the Steam Sale Prayer to get us through this tough time: "I do not need to buy anything, My Backlog is pretty full, Dude that price is perfect though... Shit, alright just this one. ... and that one. Amen."                 Abandon All Hope Those Who Purchase Here Arcade 1Up shuts down.                 Novelty home arcade company Arcade1Up announced they were ceasing operation, with “select assets,” being purchased by toy compan...

The Guinea Gourmet: A Story of Macaroni and Beans

(This was just one, of many stupid ideas I amuse myself with that  I decided to write down.)                 Time again to look for something to watch while you eat at your desk, so you find yourself clicking through a few pages of videos until you come across a cooking show. Seems easy enough to take in while you shovel food into your craw.                 “The Guinea Gourmet,” The title flashed onto the screen before sliding off to the side. We see a small, dingey kitchen with yellow and white tiles on the wall, a decades-old stove, and cabinets that definitely needed to be painted, and a cloth covered table.                 From stage left our host arrives; a stubble-faced, slicked hair man wearing a wife beater and a gold chain around his neck. He lit a...

The Game Awards 2025: Not Since Napoleon have the French won this much.

What a pretty damn fun spectacle and celebration of gaming for the year. With exciting reveals, great performances, and a surprising (but not surprising) sweep of the awards, it was worth the FOUR HOUR watch.                 SO many things happened it’s difficult to go over all of it with any sort of brevity, so I just want to talk about some things that stood out for me.                 Mega Man Dual Override. Holy shit, I was so surprised and ecstatic about this announcement, especially after Capcom announcing they wanted to bring the Blue Bomber more to the forefront of their company presence, in similar fashion to Monster Hunter and Resident Evil. I just thought they meant they might do another animated series, or more merch. INSTEAD, WE GET A WHOLE GAME TO LOOK FORWARD TO.         ...
