Gaming Briefs wearing Boxers November 10th, 2025
It’s been a while since I’ve managed to crack one of these out, but a few things have caught my attention this week, sad, hilarious in one case, and interesting.
Halo infinite getting its last major update, not quite on life support yet.
Operation: Infinite comes after last weeks announcement the Halo: CE remake announced for PC, Xbox and Playstation 5 (The Console Wars have Ended.) The update even cites working on multiple Halo titles as the reason, needing all hands on deck for these new titles.
The Operation: Infinite update includes a 100 tier Operation Pass with this ornate Serpin armor set as its ultimate goal.
Along with the preview, they went the continued Roadmap, citing Challenges and Ranked Seasons continuing and then into a heartfelt thanks to the community for its continued support and all the creativity and fun they had in the games lifetime. Bittersweet really.

I’ve gotta say, this announcement got me playing Halo Infinite over the weekend, maybe the rest of the week. This also led me to remember why I stopped playing after it came out. Though I have to say after the initial gameplay and performance problems I had with it when the game first released are definitely no longer there, the cash shop remains to be garbage. I hate the color palette system (I should be able to pick each piece’s color, or at least how previous halo games handled it, instead of having to unlock/buy palettes that MAY get color some pieces, or no pieces).
Here's a video of me being launched off a cliff, something I’m
still salty about.
Throne & Liberty hit harder than the 2008 economic
crash.
Throne & Liberty had a major fuck up giving someone enough premium currency to completely destabilize the economy. Such that, they had to shut down the servers and roll them back, have yet to find the full extent of the damage or how this happened, but update as I go.
- Servers may be down more than two weeks
- Low level items were being bought for hundreds of times their worth on the Auction House.
- AGS Seemed to have Mistaken Lucent for the games other currency, Rolland Sollant to compensate for a reward failure in the game, leading to them dolling out over 12b (BILLION) Lucents.
- People are taking the number and comparing its value to (as of writing) the price of the Throne and Liberty Anniversary Celebration Pack: Gold on Steam, which grants 6000 Lucents for a price of $99.99 (tax not included).
Aragon over on YouTube goes over a lot of it in this video.
Overall, this was just a HILARIOUS
destruction of an in-game economy, and it could probably be looked at by
someone that understands economics far better than I.
Nintendo being Patently Wrong (huehuehue).
Nintendo had its patents
questioned this week, much to everyone’s amusement. Reported on by Games Fray, everyone gets to
point and laugh and hope that a patent, that most agree never should’ve been
granted to begin with, is being reexamined after directive from US Paten Office
Director John A. Squire.
U.S. Patent No. 12,403,397 refers
to a system in which summoning one controlled character to fight another (To
put it as succinctly as possible). This has a lot of people up in arms because
if you know anything about video games, Nintendo came nowhere near being the
first makers to make such a system.
Overall, this would weaken Nintendo’s
lawsuit against runaway hit Palworld if it is reversed, and it rightfully
should. I hope everyone is kind to their
social media managers on the day they lose that patent. I won’t hold my breath
though.

Late
State Of Play
Sony
announced a Japan-focused State of Play for Tuesday, November 11th.
I’ll see if I’m awake to watch it and come back with impressions.
That’s all for this today, Hopefully I can get back into the
swing of things and expand on others with this project.
-
Peace.
